Katrina Florio, the Pioneer’s Copy Editor from 2011-12, is in the clinical psychology doctoral program at Adelphi University. She graduated from The New School’s Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing program (Nonfiction) in May 2014, where she studied under bestselling author and former Newsday columnist Susan Cheever. With her Ph.D., she plans to become a clinical psychologist. She has been working on an inpatient unit of a psychiatric hospital and is on the curriculum committee of her doctoral program. Her goal is to have a private practice focusing on family therapy and geropsychology, and to teach psychology and writing at a university. Writing is still one of her biggest passions! She also still uses the library at LIU Post, and when she is there, she picks up and reads the Pioneer!
