We’ve heard from many readers this semester. Here’s what some of them have said:
Arthur Slate (BA, MA LIU Post): “I wish to voice my support for the Pioneer and adequate funding. I know what it takes to publish the Pioneer in print. I served as Circulation Manager, Photography Editor, Sports Editor and a Feature and Sports Writer for the Pioneer from 1969-1973. Once per week I joined fellow Editors at the printing center in Massapequa. The Pioneer is the number one source for complete information of campus news and activities. As the technology has changed the newspaper, your work for this esteemed publication should be saluted and supported by the administration.”
Katrina Florio (’12): “I’m currently a doctoral student in clinical psychology at Adelphi, but as I don’t like Adelphi’s library, I’m often at Post most nights during the week in my undergrad library getting my work done. In that way, Post is still ‘home.’ The reason I’m emailing is because last week, on a study break at the library, I picked up a copy of The Pioneer and read through some of the articles, and I wanted to tell you it looked great! The article on Bill Clinton’s talk, in particular, was well written, and as I actually attended that talk also, it was interesting to read another person’s reporting of it and her take-aways from it! So, this former Pioneer copy editor/writer just wanted to let you know I think the Pioneer staff is doing a terrific job : )
Professor Shaireen Rasheed posted on our Facebook page, about Jackie Escobar’s front page article “To Counter Prejudice? Excellence is the Answer” in the Nov.15 issue: “Great journalism. Keep it up!”
Professor Lawrence Garfinkel said, “The last issue of the Pioneer was outstanding and my congratulations to the staff.”
